Heavy Deviance
(London/Nottingham/New Zealand)_

Released worldwide on Pure Mint , Heavy Deviance 's long awaited debut LP A Slow Walk Down The Stairs is poised to claim the crown of ‘eclectic cool' .

With fans stretching across the globe, from Lauren Garnier to Chris Coco, this gorgeous collection of sublime grooves takes you on an unforgettably sensual and deep musical journey that is both beguiling and simplistically beautiful.

On the back of Heavy Deviance's first two critically acclaimed singles, Make Me Feel It and Eastern Lights , ‘ A Slow Walk Down The Stairs ' showcases Wayne Robert's considerable talents for sculpting wonderfully deep and emotional musical soundscapes, and features stunning collaborations with Crazy Penis (Shiva), Lannie Fagan (Matumbi – EMI) and newcomers Lauren Surridge and Lucy Bergman.

In addition to remixes for Mark Rae (Grand Central), Viba, The Shod Collective and Neon Heights, and collaborations with Crazy Penis, Secret Stealth, Rachael Foster (Weekend Players) and Gareth Bailey (Bent), this last year also saw Heavy Deviance get some fantastic compilation licenses under their belt; from Seamless (remixed by Bent) and Mastercuts Chilled, to the seminal “ Flowers in the Attic ” (Mint Source) and also the RAC Rally on Channel 4.  Roberts also provided the music to the current (Nov-06) national television advertising campaign for Specsavers.  Click here for free download.

Taking its title from long messy nights in some of Nottingham's coolest underground nightspots (…..the less said the better!) , A Slow Walk Down The Stairs draws upon influences as diverse as Lee Hazlewood, Carl Craig, Led Zeppelin and Morgan Giest.

"...we tried to pick the best track here but couldn't..They are all wonderful." Channel 4 Music
