THIS IS HOW IT FEELS - Released 22nd June 2009
“Nigel’s version of This Is How It Feels is a truly wonderful interpretation. He has given the song a completely new energy, more delicate and less urgent than it’s original. Strip away the electricity and there it is… the mysterious little kitchen sink drama I put together 20 years ago. Thanks Nigel, it’s lovely."Clint Boon (Inspiral Carpets) ..................................................................................
If you get a chance, please also keep an eye out for the awesome June 2009 issue of SHINDIG magazine, which features a three page article on the fantastic Margo Guryan, who we had the pleasure of releasing her superb satire 16 Words, back in 2007 as a CD and digital download. Please click here or on images below for more info.

We are really chuffed by the attention we have to begun to receive for Nigel and for the label more generally and thank you all for your continued support. I am not going to beat around the bush, but it is really tough running a small wholly independent label in the UK at the moment.
A funny report from the PRS indicated that the filesharers were just stealing the same music that they were being marketed to by the big major labels - talk about sheep leading the blind! There is so much great independent music out there, but you have to look for it. Please continue to buy Independent music so that we can keep taking the fight to the majors and finally open up the airwaves to a whole variety of new music, and not just music with huge marketing budgets from the major labels.
Cheers

We are really pleased to announce that Nigel of Bermondsey has been nominated for the XFM New Music Award 2009. He has made the 'Long List' of 46 artists who XFM reckon released the best albums of 2008. We must confess that we concur wholly with XFM's reasoning here; that being said, we would be sublimely grateful if you could click the link below and add your vote for Nigel. After the votes have been counted, the list will be shortened to 10, and then the winner will be announced. Voting for Nigel will bring you fantastic Karma, 99% guaranteed!! :-) Voting closes Friday 23rd January. Thanks for your support.

It is with great sadness that I have to report that a wonderfully
dear friend of ours,
Running Water (aka Bevin Fagan), vocalist with seminal UK
reggae act Matumbi,
sadly passed away on the 2nd April 2008. You will be sorely
missed Run by all of us at Pure Mint. A real talent and
a true philospher and king. RIP brother.
Please click on the YouTube box below to watch a little tribute
video of some Super 8 footage we shot with Run on our legendary
debut Midem in Cannes in the South of France in 2003.....now
there were some fun adventures I could tell you about that little
trip.....ha... :-)

Congratulations to Titus and the Carbon Fools for their gig/festival
recently in Budapest and for the fist airing of the MOSQUITO
video on Hungarian national television. Congratulations also
to Tilos Radio Budapest (the radio station the Carbon Fools’
track "TILOS.S.O.S" on the Hint of Mint vinyl is all
about…..), which now has an FM licence. Excellent news!
The Carbon Fools "Mosquito" video (by the way) is
a work of genius…. and presciently current!, but then
I have come to expect no less from David.
